Domestic abuse is a pattern of physical, verbal, or sexual threats or aggression used by one partner to control the other.
Abuse can range from emotional torment like name-calling and isolation, to harassment like stalking and intimidation, to violence and physical harm. It affects every community regardless of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

The helpline is free, and confidential—and you can call us anonymously. Family members, friends, co-workers, or other service providers are welcome and encouraged to call the helpline for support and information too, and to find out how you can help someone you care about.
